THE LANGUAGE OF PATHS & POWER

Power Dictionary

Look up what a power means, what you receive, and how to use it. Search by name or effect, or browse a category. Each linked recipe shows the formation and full sticker cost.

Opening the dictionary…

Activation Seal

The separate fourth sticker for a four-sticker reward based on a three-node formation.

Place the seal in socket 01. It cannot also be a node in the qualifying formation. A three-node shape alone does not meet the current four-sticker minimum for a standalone reward.

Banner of the First Vanguard

Award team assignment credit

What it means

Give the entire team full credit on one pre-designated eligible assignment.

How you use it

Redeem before the end of Week 6. Every team member must meet the course’s published participation minimum.

Limits and conditions

It cannot replace an individual mastery check, required assessment, or externally mandated record. This is the current catalog’s specific full-credit reward; there is no general add-points power.

Base Power-Up Passport

Obtain a new base passport for 3 stickers, or print your own from the provided PDF.

The three stickers may come from the passport you surrender or from separately earned stickers. The entire old passport is still collected, and your chosen reward must meet its full recipe and minimum cost.

You may instead self-print the provided base Power-Up Passport PDF. This permission applies only to the base passport. More powerful cards, scrolls, and passports must be issued and cannot be self-printed.

Bestiary Claim

Receive a Creature card

What it means

Receive one eligible Creature card for your collection.

How you use it

Select or receive a creature from the pool permitted by the course.

Limits and conditions

Owning the card does not automatically summon the creature in a game. Its rarity limits, coin requirements, and printed play rules still apply.

Bridge Summoning Coin

Call a Real-Virtual game

What it means

Receive a single-use physical coin for a one-hour game that combines physical actions with computer-world actions, such as physical clues that unlock digital spaces.

How you use it

Use the coin during an eligible Realmwake for an available Real-Virtual game. Turn it in when the summon starts.

Limits and conditions

Units, Items, or cards may be available as stated on the summon notice. “Bridge” refers to the two kinds of play; this recipe does not require crossing the passport’s fire/ice bridge.

Cardwright’s Forge

Create or adapt a card

What it means

Work with the instructor to create or adapt one balanced gameplay card with a coin affinity, ability, activation cost, and flip-pattern trigger.

How you use it

Develop the card with the instructor and obtain final approval before using it in play.

Limits and conditions

The reward grants the design opportunity. It does not authorize an unreviewed or unlimited-power card.

Celestial Nexus

A single-family alternative to the mixed-family Legendary Sigil. This formation is reserved for future rewards; it does not replace a named Legendary Sigil requirement.

What it means

Five connected stickers arranged as a center with four surrounding nodes. One approved family is enough.

What it can give you

This formation is reserved for future recipes. No current reward names it. Placing the shape does not issue a reward automatically.

Reading the diagram

Lines show required connections. Blue marks a second sticker family in an example. Use approved sticker families and the printed paths on your actual passport. The fire and ice regions do not determine sticker family.

Clausebreaker Rune

Remove one non-core requirement

What it means

Remove one eligible formatting, process, or support requirement from an assignment.

How you use it

Name the exact requirement you want removed so the instructor can check whether it is non-core.

Limits and conditions

Evidence needed to demonstrate a learning outcome remains required. This power does not excuse the whole assignment.

Codex Arsenal

Your collection of gameplay cards for CoinMasters.

Cards can come from passport rewards or approved game rewards. They carry their own affinity, ability, activation cost, flip-pattern trigger, and use limits. Follow the printed card when playing.

Collection ownership does not remove activation requirements. Course-to-course ownership, trading, and deck-building limits still need published rules.

Codex Draw

Draw a random card

What it means

Receive one random standard card from the current course deck for your CoinMasters collection.

How you use it

Surrender a qualifying passport and draw from the deck the instructor makes available.

Limits and conditions

This reward does not let you choose a specific card. Its printed play and activation rules still apply.

Coinmaster’s Audience

Request a rare summon

What it means

Call an instructor-designed event such as a major hunt, cross-realm mission, rare Unit encounter, or named Item quest.

How you use it

Request an available rare summon and read its notice before play.

Limits and conditions

The notice defines the realm type and duration. The fifteen-sticker cost does not promise a particular prize or unlimited time.

Core learning evidence

The work needed to show that you achieved an assignment’s learning outcome.

Requirement-removal powers can change eligible formatting, process, or support conditions. They cannot remove the evidence needed to demonstrate learning. The instructor identifies which requested requirements are non-core.

Course eligibility & provisional rewards

A catalog description becomes redeemable only when the course explicitly offers it.

The design catalog describes proposed powers. Course rules must name eligible assignments, deadlines, limits, exclusions, and accepted sticker families before redemption. Check any course and term attached to an approved entry.

No deadline power overrides the final date on which the instructor or institution can accept work.

Cup of the Guildhall

Receive a drink

What it means

Receive one instructor-purchased coffee, tea, cocoa, or comparable non-caffeinated drink within the course’s stated price limit.

How you use it

Choose from the offered options after the instructor confirms the reward.

Limits and conditions

The course must publish the price cap and an equivalent non-coffee option.

Dream Path

A formation for strategy, reflection, or recovery. Its three connected stickers turn a corner or form a triangle.

What it means

Three connected stickers forming an angle or triangle. Any approved sticker family.

What it can give you

The formation is an ingredient in a reward recipe. Choose one of its related rewards and meet that reward’s full cost and conditions. Placing the shape does not issue a reward automatically.

Reading the diagram

Elemental Claim

Choose a Seven Coin card

What it means

Choose one available Seven Coin card: Fire, Wolf, Moon, Earth, Time, Sky, or Void.

How you use it

Select from the cards currently offered by the course.

Limits and conditions

This grants a card in your collection. It does not grant a Summoning Coin or unlimited activation resources.

Environment Key

Receive an Environment card

What it means

Receive an available Environment card, such as Dense Forest or Eclipse, for use under its printed game rules.

How you use it

Request an eligible Environment card from the available collection.

Limits and conditions

The card’s effect and activation conditions are defined on the card. This reward does not itself change the passport’s fire or ice zone rules.

Flip-pattern trigger

The pattern of flips a gameplay card names as a condition for an ability.

A card’s printed rules specify its flip-pattern trigger, timing, and activation cost. This game mechanic is separate from arranging earned stickers into a passport formation. Read the actual card before resolving its ability.

Forge Council

Join the game community

What it means

Receive authorization to join the Legions & Realms Discord, where learners find summon notices, game information, Unit records, and player coordination.

How you use it

Redeem the passport and follow the course’s invitation and community rules. Use the approved alternative route if you cannot access Discord.

Limits and conditions

Community access does not grant permanent access to every game. Individual games still need the appropriate Summoning Coin and an eligible play window.

Gate Pattern

Combine sticker families to form a Gate. A three-node shape alone is not enough: the mixed-family requirement matters.

What it means

Three connected stickers using at least two approved sticker families. At least two approved families.

What it can give you

The formation is an ingredient in a reward recipe. Choose one of its related rewards and meet that reward’s full cost and conditions. Placing the shape does not issue a reward automatically.

Reading the diagram

Guild Charter

Receive a Guild Card

What it means

Receive one Guild Card after surrendering a passport with at least ten stickers and three completed patterns.

How you use it

Request Guild Charter and submit the complete qualifying passport.

Limits and conditions

The current source has not defined what the Guild Card does after it is earned. Additional privileges must be published before they can be promised.

Guild Harmony Grid

A named seven-node formation for future Guild rewards. Guild Charter still requires its listed ten stickers and three completed patterns.

What it means

Seven connected stickers: a center and a six-node ring. At least two approved families.

What it can give you

This formation is reserved for future recipes. No current reward names it. Placing the shape does not issue a reward automatically.

Reading the diagram

Hourglass Charge

Extend a summoned game

What it means

Record one additional summon hour for one unused, non-overlapping completed pattern beyond the chosen Summoning Coin recipe.

How you use it

Include the extra pattern when surrendering the passport for the coin. Record the approved charge, then declare it before the game starts.

Limits and conditions

This is an add-on, not a standalone reward. Extra hours depend on the available class calendar and published maximum duration. More than one charge may be recorded if permitted.

Hourglass Mercy

Extend a due date

What it means

Move one eligible assignment’s due date forward by three calendar days. Calendar days include weekends.

How you use it

Request it before the existing deadline and identify the assignment. The instructor confirms the revised due date.

Limits and conditions

This is a deadline extension. It does not itself reopen work that has already closed or override the final course cutoff.

Items

Game rewards that can affect what a learner carries, uses, unlocks, or discovers.

Some summons may yield Items. The notice and the Item’s own rules define the available reward and its use. Slots, rarity, trading, and persistence still need published rules.

Lantern of the Vault

Unlock a study resource

What it means

Gain access to one extra study resource, walkthrough, or practice set offered for the course.

How you use it

Identify the topic or available resource you want to study.

Limits and conditions

Access to the resource does not grant assignment credit or unrestricted access to every resource.

Legendary Sigil

A five-node cross for rare rewards. The center connects to four surrounding stickers, using at least two approved families.

What it means

Five stickers arranged as a center with four surrounding nodes. At least two approved families.

What it can give you

The formation is an ingredient in a reward recipe. Choose one of its related rewards and meet that reward’s full cost and conditions. Placing the shape does not issue a reward automatically.

Reading the diagram

Legions & Realms

The game community and information hub on Discord.

Forge Council authorizes entry under the course’s community rules. The hub carries Realmwake announcements, game libraries, rules, story briefings, Unit and Item records, card information, and team coordination.

Follow the approved alternative access route when Discord is not accessible. Joining the community does not replace a game’s Summoning Coin requirement.

Manifest Summoning Coin

Call a Real/Practical game

What it means

Receive a single-use physical coin for a one-hour game played primarily in the physical world, such as a treasure hunt, build challenge, investigation, or tabletop encounter.

How you use it

Choose an available Real/Practical game during an eligible Realmwake and turn in the coin when it begins.

Limits and conditions

The summon notice sets the available rewards and play conditions. The complete recipe requires three separate formations totaling twelve stickers.

Non-overlapping patterns

Separate formations that do not share the same sticker.

A sticker may belong to only one of the required groups when a recipe specifies non-overlapping patterns. Three separate three-node formations therefore use nine distinct stickers. Extra earned stickers may meet a higher sticker minimum, but they do not replace a required formation.

Oracle’s Whisper

Receive focused help

What it means

Receive one focused hint, worked example, or short instructor strategy conference to help you decide how to proceed.

How you use it

Name the topic or point where you are stuck. The instructor provides one of the listed forms of help.

Limits and conditions

You still produce the required learning evidence. This power does not award points or complete the assignment for you.

Pack Forge

A compact formation for team support. Follow three connected sockets along one straight line.

What it means

Three connected stickers in a line. Any approved sticker family.

What it can give you

The formation is an ingredient in a reward recipe. Choose one of its related rewards and meet that reward’s full cost and conditions. Placing the shape does not issue a reward automatically.

Reading the diagram

Pathfinder’s Choice

Change the submission route

What it means

Use an approved alternative delivery method for the same assignment, such as a file instead of a link or Google Drive instead of Git.

How you use it

State the current route and the alternative you want the instructor to approve.

Limits and conditions

The assignment and its learning evidence remain the same. A technical requirement that demonstrates a learning outcome cannot be bypassed through this power.

Pattern Imprint

Receive a Pattern card

What it means

Receive one available Pattern card for your CoinMasters collection.

How you use it

Choose from the available Pattern cards according to the course’s redemption process.

Limits and conditions

Owning the card and activating its ability are separate steps. Follow the card’s printed cost and flip-pattern trigger during play.

Phoenix Reforge

Keep work open for revision

What it means

Keep one eligible assignment open so you can complete, correct, or resubmit it through the published final course cutoff.

How you use it

Identify the assignment and follow its correction or resubmission instructions after approval.

Limits and conditions

The final cutoff remains in force. This power does not guarantee a higher score; the submitted evidence still determines the result.

Pillar of Consistency

A longer straight path that recognizes sustained effort and supports projects.

What it means

Four connected stickers in a straight path. Any approved sticker family.

What it can give you

The formation is an ingredient in a reward recipe. Choose one of its related rewards and meet that reward’s full cost and conditions. Placing the shape does not issue a reward automatically.

Reading the diagram

Realm Draft

Choose from three revealed cards

What it means

Reveal three eligible cards, keep one, and return the other two.

How you use it

Use the eligible card pool offered for this reward and record the card you keep.

Limits and conditions

You receive one card, not all three. The six-sticker minimum requires two non-overlapping formations.

Realmwake

The week immediately after a learning pipeline is completed.

This is the working name for the window in which eligible Summoning Coins can call games. Coins can be earned earlier and banked. The instructor announces available games, the schedule, player limits, and maximum duration before accepting a coin.

A normal summon lasts one hour. Recorded Hourglass Charges can add approved time. Access ends when the summon expires.

Redemption & whole-passport surrender

Trade one complete qualifying passport for one chosen reward.

Give the instructor the entire physical passport, including every sticker and unused pattern. The listed cost is a minimum qualification, not a partial deduction. Receive one qualifying reward, then start a blank passport. No stickers carry over.

A printed request card records the reward you want and its design. It does not replace the passport or prove that stickers were earned.

Rune Triad Extension

Adds the fourth sticker required by a four-sticker reward. Socket 01 holds the separate Activation Seal and cannot also count as a formation node.

What it means

An approved three-node formation plus a separate Activation Seal in socket 01. Follow the family rule of the underlying formation.

What it can give you

This describes a three-node formation plus its separate Activation Seal for a qualifying four-sticker reward. Placing the shape does not issue a reward automatically.

Reading the diagram

Score increases & full credit

The current catalog has one specific team full-credit power, rather than a general points bonus.

Banner of the First Vanguard can award full credit for one pre-designated eligible team assignment under its stated conditions. Reopening, extending, or revising work gives you an opportunity to submit learning evidence; it does not automatically increase a grade.

No general “add points” reward is defined in the current catalog.

Second Gate

Reopen an assignment

What it means

Restore access to one eligible assignment that has closed, so you can work on it during a 72-hour reopening window.

How you use it

Name the assignment on your request. The instructor confirms eligibility and records the reopening window.

Limits and conditions

The assignment still requires its normal learning evidence. The published final course cutoff still applies.

Sticker family

The approved source or family of a sticker, such as Paths & Power or the future Lab family.

A mixed-family recipe requires stickers from at least two course-approved families. Placing a sticker on the blue side of the passport does not change its family. Blue in an example represents a second family for practice.

A recipe that specifically names the Lab family requires that family, not just any second color.

Summoning Coin

A single-use physical token exchanged to start an eligible game.

Surrender a qualifying passport to receive the coin. Later, turn in the coin at an eligible Realmwake to begin an available game of its realm type: Virtual, Real-Virtual, or Real/Practical.

Summoning Coins are token classes. They are different from the Seven Coin card families. Each summon notice states its access route, rewards, player limit, safety rules, and end time.

Summoning Mandala

A named six-node formation for future Summoning rewards. Current Summoning Coins retain their own listed recipes.

What it means

Six connected stickers: a center and a five-node ring. At least two approved families.

What it can give you

This formation is reserved for future recipes. No current reward names it. Placing the shape does not issue a reward automatically.

Reading the diagram

The Unbound Hour

Remove an ordinary due date

What it means

Remove the ordinary due date from one eligible assignment. The final course cutoff becomes the last date you can submit it.

How you use it

Request it for a named assignment and confirm the final acceptance date with the instructor.

Limits and conditions

It does not extend the course or remove the work itself. The eight-sticker minimum still applies even though Pillar plus Dream uses seven nodes.

Twin Clausebreaker

Remove up to two non-core requirements

What it means

Remove up to two eligible non-core requirements from one assignment.

How you use it

List both requested changes on the reward request. The instructor checks each one.

Limits and conditions

Core learning evidence remains required. Both changes must concern the same eligible assignment.

Units

The base currency earned in games.

Units can support the larger game economy. Exact earning rates and prices for purchases, trades, activation, and upgrades remain design decisions. Read the summon notice for what a particular game offers.

A possible Unit reward is not a promise of a fixed amount.

Veil of Return

Clear an absence consequence

What it means

Clear one course-level consequence of an absence after completing an approved makeup action.

How you use it

Confirm the makeup action, complete it, and identify the consequence covered by the request.

Limits and conditions

The official attendance record stays accurate. The recipe specifically requires at least one Lab-family sticker; a generic second family does not automatically satisfy that condition.

Veil Summoning Coin

Call a Virtual game

What it means

Receive a single-use physical coin that can call one available computer-world game for one hour during an eligible Realmwake.

How you use it

Bank the coin until an eligible Realmwake, choose an available Virtual game, then turn in the coin when the summon begins.

Limits and conditions

Units are the base reward. The summon notice states the actual rewards, player limit, access route, and end time. Game access closes when the approved time expires.
