How to Read a Card

Explore a draft card’s identity, costs, stats, and ability timing.

Teaching example using the existing Infernal Behemoth draft. Its numbers and abilities are provisional, and this web panel is not an issued playing card.

Start with identity, then check the conditions

A card tells you what it is, what it costs to use, and when its abilities apply. Select a field below to see how it works in the draft example. Every field explanation is also listed below the utility.

The fields at a glance

Identity
The card name, type, and coin affinity. Infernal Behemoth is a Fire creature.
Rarity and tier
The draft labels it Rare and Silver Summon. These are separate attributes; rarity alone is not the activation cost.
Coin cost
The draft asks for two Fire Coins, with at least one at Silver tier or higher. Both family and tier conditions matter.
Stats
Health 8, Attack 5, Movement 2, and Melee range are the draft values. Final rules define movement, range, damage, and defeat.
On Summon
Blazing Roar is tied to the summon event. Its Heads branch deals two damage to all enemy front-line creatures; its Tails branch deals one damage to one random enemy creature.
Passive
Lava Trail leaves a Lava Tile along the creature’s movement. The draft deals one damage to an enemy entering or starting its turn there.
Flip-pattern trigger
Flame Surge names Heads–Heads–Tails and a once-per-game limit. The draft grants +3 attack and deals three damage to enemies in a two-tile radius. The duration of the attack increase still needs an explicit rule.

Check the whole ability

A matching flip sequence is only one condition. Check the cost, timing, target, range, and use limit too. If a duration or interaction is missing, use the playtest ruling rather than inventing a permanent effect.
